Law Enforcement

Is your suspect lying to you?
Is your victim really a victim or just making up a good story?
Is the witness telling the truth or fabricating the facts?

Police work is one of the most difficult jobs in the world. We know that an officer has only seconds to make a decision that can change people's lives forever. When an officer does not see something happen, they must rely on information provided to them by others to conduct an investigation. This information can come in the form of a field interview of a victim, witness and potential suspect. It may take the form of an interview at the station, an oral statement, a written statement and so on. The officer needs to find the truth and find it quickly. As important as it is to arrest the offender, it is equally important to rule out a suspect.

The training we provide to police agencies equips the officer and investigator with the tools needed to cut through the lies and get to the truth. Being able to properly analyze a written or oral statement and separate the truth from the lie is not only a valuable skill, but can save an officer a great deal of time in the investigation. Also, having the ability to point out to a suspect, witness or victim not only that their story does not seem credible, but exactly WHY it is not credible often leads to admissions and confessions.
Being able to properly identify and analyze the non verbal communication of the subject correctly, and the key word is "correctly", is an extremely important tool in the officer's tool box. We dispel the widely taught myths of body language that are often taught to police officers and provide them with techniques that are based in reality and truth. Body language is NOT always what it appears to be.

We also can teach you the correct non verbal and verbal cues to watch for that signal an attack on you is forthcoming, the pre-attack cues you often hear about. These are critical to officer safety and survival!

We use actual case statements in our classes so that officers can see first hand how the techniques separate lies from truth. As part of the class, all officers walk away with not only extensive training but also technical support! What that means is that if you are working on a case you can contact us to review your analysis to see if you have missed anything. Officers who have attended the training often send us their statements for review until they feel confident in their skills.
